Happy December! Winter in the north, Summer in the south and a solstice on December 21 that according to Maya concludes Baktún 13 and a new Long Count begins. Other big events include Christmas and the celebration of Radish Night (Noche de Rabanos) two nights before in Oaxaca. We greet friends in Quito who celebrate the foundation of their big city and wave to our friends on the highest mountain tops as the world celebrates International Mountain Day.
