Responsible Travel Week Day #1. Today’s challenge: Be creative.
Challenge: Show us the places you love that the responsible traveler should visit.
Today is Day 1 of Responsible Travel Week. This is the start of a week-long celebration with events taking place on the ground in Las Vegas, USA, Cape Town, South Africa and London, England. Everyone’s invited and we encourage participants to create local events. Meanwhile – and this is important – the conversation is taking place online the social web using a variety of channels, much like a traditional conference uses different rooms for various sessions.
The go-to information hub is the Planeta Wiki, specifically the RT Week Event page —
Each day Ron Mader will be blogging and hanging out with friends. And each day we’ll be asking participants to be engaged using a different skillset.
Today’s challenge: Be creative.
Make something relevant to ‘responsible travel’ AND show us. This can be a poster, a photo album, informational signage, aka foamboard or popup museum! Celebrate the Do It Yourself (DIY) Culture. If you cannot create, curate. Make a YouTube playlist or Flickr gallery. Get the app if you want to create your own Flipboard.
We would love to see original videos from participants introducing yourselves and your interest in responsible travel. Upload to YouTube, Vimeo or make a short video using Vine. This doesn’t have to be expensive travelporn. Keep it simple. We’ll feature your creations and help you network.
