Danza de la Pluma is a marathon re-enactment of the battles between the Spanish and the Aztecs performed as a series of dances in the Zapotec communities of Teotitlán del Valle, Cuilpan de Guerrero and Zaachila in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca.

In this video conversation (July 2008) Teotitlan’s Manuel Bazán García, who interprets the role of Moctezuma, explains the tradition.
