samaritana

Today is a good day to be thirsty in Oaxaca de Juarez.

The 4th Friday in Lent is known as Dia Samaritana or Samaritan Day and all across Oaxaca de Juarez, people are giving passersby free drinks. So hydrate yourself with agua de jamaica, tejate or agua de chia. Check out the video Erick Igari recorded on our walk of four years ago.

Slow adventures indeed! This is a delicious manifestation of compassion. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to see more of these. For those reading online (you), you might be interested in tips on being generous yourself!
